July 22 – August 15, 2015

Gallery II

All images featured in this exhibition were captured in Death Valley; the hottest, driest location in the United States. Despite the forbidding name and nature of the environment, this unique landscape has been stunningly captured with a sense of poetic serenity. The title of the exhibition refers to the location but acts as a foil to the stunning tonality, colour and beauty of these unique landscape images.

The area is popular with tourists however, the photographer has captured their place in this barren environment, with some images included in this exhibition, revealing the oddity of their presence. Richard brings to the images an artistic sensibility, culminating in his Gold Distinction award winning print featured in the exhibition.

Richard Muldoon is an award winning Brisbane based artist working in the mediums of painting and photography, and was recently awarded the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) 2015 Epson Queensland Professional Photographer of the Year.

The winning photographic landscape series of four images can be seen as part of this exhibition, which will be shown at Maud Gallery from July 22nd until August 15th, 2015, with the opening reception being held of Friday 24th July at 6pm.

RSVP for the opening night event is essential
