Urban Nature
$230

This workshop offers new exciting views of nature in the city.
While traditional landscape photography focuses on remote places and unspoiled vistas we will look at urban pockets of nature that can be found right in front of our doorsteps.
Visit acclaimed Australian photographer Joachim Froese at his home and studio in South Brisbane for a workshop that looks at nature in the city. Traditionally, nature photography focuses on remote and wild places, which we perceive as unspoiled and pristine. However, we often forget that nature is all around us – even in the city.
The day with Joachim will take you on a fascinating photographic journey that starts right here on our doorsteps in the middle of Brisbane. In the morning we will concentrate on close-up and macro photography to explore a whole new world that can be found in Joachim’s inner city garden. After lunch we will focus on broader views. On a walk around the inner city you will be surprised how many more pockets of nature – tamed and untamed – you will be able to discover.
This workshop requires basic photography skills. Joachim’s tuition will spark new ideas, improve your camera skill, and change your perspective on life in the city forever.
The number of participants for this workshop is limited to 8 people to ensure Joachim’s individual attention to every person.
For the workshop to run, we will need minimum of 4 people. Full refund will be given if the workshop is cancelled due to lack of registrations, Covid-19 restrictions or other unforeseen circumstance caused by the Centre.

“I recently participated in Joachim Froese’s ‘Urban Landscape’ workshop and recommend it to anyone interested in photographing the world around them. Joachim’s knowledge and expertise is first class, I left the workshop with a better understanding of how to examine ‘what I was photographing’ and inspired to look for new subject matter within my own daily experiences.”
