SECOND LIGHT
"summer is coming"
The “2021 SECOND LIGHT” exhibition is in the pipeline, with the broad theme of “Summer is Coming”.
The “First Light” in December 2020 was a great success and the 2021 show is scheduled for December 1 – 5.
You are invited to submit your images now.
A panel of industry professionals will evaluate all entries. A shortlist of all submissions will be featured on the gallery website and social media.
Final images will be selected from the shortlist for the SECOND LIGHT exhibition at THE MAUD STREET PHOTO GALLERY.
5 photographers will be selected for an interview and their body of work or a portfolio will be featured in a monthly editorial on social media and the gallery website in 2022.
Each photographer can submit up 10 images.
SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE: 30 OCTOBER, 5PM
Selected images for the exhibition will be announced by email to each photographer by 5 November, 2021.
Selected prints for the exhibition must be delivered to the gallery by appointment, no later than Friday, 19 November.

1 – decide how many images to enter
2 – pay the entry fee using Stripe secure web payment
3 – upload hi-res JPEGs max 2000 px on the long side
4 – you must name your files as per this example: your first name_ your last name_image title_final exhibition print size (HxW in mm).

GUIDELINES:
The submissions are open to photographers living in Queensland.
The submission deadline is 30 October, 5pm.
By submitting your images, you agree to the Terms and Conditions, (link below)
Selected images will be announced by email to each photographer by 5 November, 2021.
Selected prints for exhibition must be delivered to the gallery by appointment, no later than Friday, 19 November.
Files need to be submitted as JPEG with the longest side of the image not exceeding 2000 pixels, each file must be under 1MB. Files MUST be named as per the example above.
Submitted works must be created between 2016 – 2021.
Submitted digital files must accurately represent the prints for exhibition.
Maximum size of exhibition prints to be A2.
You must be the copyright owner of the submitted images and you must have a written release if the image features recognisable people.
Copyright remains with the photographer and gallery will credit all exhibited works.
Photographers/ images must not violate any third-party rights.
Submission will be assessed by a panel of industry professionals/ curators. The gallery reserves the right to determine final works to be exhibited.
The gallery may use the submitted artwork/s for promotional material such as but not exclusively websites, magazines, newspapers, exhibitions, mobile media and all relevant PR campaigns connected with the exhibition.
The gallery reserves the right to reject any work at its discretion and does not take legal responsibility on behalf of the photographer
