Portrait Painting Place – a book of beautiful quality with 250 full colour pages
The dots of life led award-winning photographer Robyn Hills to create remarkable portraits of 100 Aboriginal artists from Central Australia. This book features these portraits, together with a painting from each artist. Robyn has also included spectacular photographs of the rugged and immense landscape that inspired the vivid artwork.
The artists of these remote communities produce gloriously coloured art, painting their Jukurrpa (Dreamings) which relate directly to their land. These stories are from a living, dynamic culture that has been passed down for millennia.
The Maud Gallery and the Queensland Centre for Photography are now closed until February 8, 2025.
