LIGHT, PAPER, SPACE
$375

It can’t get more simple: use a single light source and paper to understand and create space in photography.
But what sounds simple turns out to be a complex exercise.
Join acclaimed still-life photographer Joachim Froese in a hands-on workshop that will change how you think about photography. Learn how to use a single light source and paper to create and understand space in your photographs. This deceptively simple exercise will take you on an experimental journey, exploring the scope of paper as a subject matter and medium for shaping light in a studio.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer, this workshop is suitable for all skill levels. Joachim will guide you through a range of exercises that demonstrate the principles of studio lighting, from hard light to soft light, main light to fill light.
Inspired by the famous Chicago Institute of Design, this workshop is limited to just 6 participants to ensure Joachim’s individual attention to every person.
The workshop runs from 10 am to 4 pm and includes morning tea and a light lunch. Please bring your own lunch if you have specific dietary requirements, and note that a fridge and microwave are available.
In the event that the workshop is canceled due to a lack of registrations, Covid-19 restrictions, or other unforeseen circumstances caused by the Centre, a full refund will be given. Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your photography skills and take your creativity to the next level.
