THE MAUD STREET PHOTO GALLERY is a fine art photographic gallery in Brisbane, Newstead, close to the Brisbane CBD and ‘the Valley’ area. It is a prime photographic space in Brisbane, where likeminded enthusiasts gather. The Maud Street Photo Gallery is part of QUEENSLAND CENTRE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY, which specializes in providing photographic facilities and education to the photographic community. The gallery’s contemporary interior provide the art with a clean and elegant backdrop.
The Gallery was officially open by Dr. Les Walkling (Ph.D, D.F.A.) on February 8th, 2014
The birth of a new gallery is always a wonderful occasion. Creative spaces that encourage and engage our finest thoughts, deeds and actions, are still in terribly short supply. We desperately need these spaces; speculative, magical spaces where our ideas and ideals can roam free and collide with other imaginations, hopes and dreams. So it is with enormous pleasure that I declare this inspiring gallery, and it’s inaugural exhibitions, open.

The gallery was born out of an appreciation of fine art photography and is a space to come to enjoy and admire the art of photography. The aim is to provide a contemporary space to showcase works of award-winning photographers, as well as supporting new and emerging talents. THE MAUD STREET PHOTO GALLERY is proud to exhibit their artworks in a contemporary style gallery featuring white walls, white floor and soaring white ceilings with original steel trusses.
The Gallery has 190m3 of exhibition space divided into two gallery rooms, which can be used separately or combined for larger exhibitions. The gallery is open to the public during exhibition times only. The exhibition opening times vary according to the artist needs.
